Here are some pointers for those conducting the talking time.
பிள்ளைகள் தொடங்கத் தெரியாமல் சிரமப்பட்டால், கேள்விகளைச் சுருக்கி அவர்களைப் படிபடியாகப் பேச ஊக்குவியுங்கள். அவர்களுக்கு மேலும் பேச ஆர்வம் இருந்தால் அதை அனுமதியுங்கள்.
Guide them with shorter questions if they seem lost and let them speak if they have more to say.
தலைப்பிற்குச் சம்மந்தம் இருந்தால், பிள்ளைகள் பேசும்போது அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து பேச அனுமதியுங்கள். கலந்துரையாடல் நேரத்தில் சரியான பதில் தவறான பதில் என்று கூறாமல் அனைத்து கருத்துக்களையும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவும். அவர்கள் தன்னம்பிக்கையோடு தங்கள் கருத்தைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வது தான் இந்தப் பயிற்சியின் நோக்கம்.
As long as it isn’t deviating too much from the main question, take the conversation where it goes. There is no right or wrong answer. What we want is children who are confident while sharing with the group.
பிள்ளைகளைத் தமிழில் உரையாட ஊக்குவியுங்கள். அவர்களால் முடியவில்லை என்றால், முதலில் ஆங்கிலத்தில் தொடங்கிக் கொஞ்ச கொஞ்சமாக அவர்கள் தமிழில் பேச நீங்கள் பக்க பலமாக இருக்கலாம். மனவுளைச்சல் இன்றி பிள்ளைகளைக் கட்டாயப்படுத்தாமல் அவர்களைத் தமிழில் ஆர்வத்துடன் பேச ஊன்றுகோளாக இருங்கள்.
Encourage them to talk in Tamil as much as they can. If it is possible, allow them to use English when they struggle and slowly move the emphasis to Tamil. Do not introduce stress when motivating them to use Tamil.
